House of Lords for the Ugandan High Commission luncheon on “Mining and Energy: Opportunities for Growth and Investment,” delivered in partnership with the Eastern Africa Association (EAA) and the Westminster Africa Business Association (WABA).
Our sincere thanks to the Ugandan High Commission and to H.E. Nimisha Madhvani for hosting such an insightful and well-organised event, and for their continued drive and leadership in championing Uganda’s growth, investment potential, and international partnerships.
It was a pleasure to hear from Dr Ramathan Ggoobi, Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Treasury, on Uganda’s economic priorities, including the ambitious Ten-Fold Growth Strategy — a clear vision to expand Uganda’s economy from $50bn to $500bn by 2040, driven by key sectors such as agro-industrialisation, mineral development, tourism, and science & technology.
Following the lunch, we were delighted to join Dr Ggoobi for a private meeting with members, where we had the opportunity to discuss ongoing projects and explore future investment opportunities in Uganda in more detail.
Encouraging to see such strong engagement and commitment to strengthening UK–Uganda partnerships.
