Strengthening International Trade Through Parliamentary Engagement an evening of diplomacy, business and global partnerships at the House of Commons.

News

Westminster Africa Business Association (WABA) was delighted to partner with Tufail Group Limited UK for an exclusive parliamentary dinner on Wednesday 14 October 2026.
Hosted by Mr Zubair Tufail, Chairman of Tufail Group, alongside Aisha Malik, Head of UK Operations, the evening brought together parliamentarians, African High Commissioners and senior business leaders to strengthen commercial relationships between the UK, Africa and Asia.

We were particularly honoured to welcome:
H.E. Ms. Macenje Mazoka Mazoka, High Commissioner of Zambia to the United Kingdom.
H.E. Ms Nimisha Madhvani, High Commissioner of Uganda to the United Kingdom.
The distinguished gathering also included Lord Bellingham, former Minister for Africa, Martin Vickers MP, and representatives from the international business community.

Discussions focused on expanding trade and investment, strengthening industrial cooperation and exploring new commercial opportunities across African markets, including Uganda and Zambia.

Laurence Robertson, Chief Executive of WABA, highlighted the importance of bringing together government, diplomacy and business to develop meaningful international partnerships.

At WABA, we believe that strong relationships open doors to real business opportunities. This dinner was another excellent example of how parliamentary engagement and business diplomacy can help build lasting international connections.

Our sincere thanks to Mr Zubair Tufail, Aisha Malik and the Tufail Group team, together with our distinguished guests, for making the evening such a success.

Connecting Westminster, Africa and the wider world through trade, investment and diplomacy.
